Teach Your Dog Sit Command.

Dogs when adopted in a family needs to be trained for exhibiting a good behavior and mannerism. They require the training of certain necessary commands that they are expected to obey when given. These commands can be given to tell the dog to sit, to eat, to run, to stop, to jump, to be quit etc.

Since the newly adopted dogs find a new environment in the humans’ family, they need this training and after successful sessions, they become trained to be in control of their owners and understand the owner’s command exactly without any question. Among the various commands that the dog is taught to learn as mentioned earlier, the sit command is a key command that the dog should be taught to obey immediately.

Training the dog for sit command can involve a mix of various Dog Training styles. It can involve a Leashcollar for controlling the aggression of the dog as well as restricting it from spoiling the training session by showing unwanted unwillingness to learn commands. The benefit of training the dog to “sit” is that it will show good behavior on arrival of guests by sitting and greeting them rather than jumping over them and threatening them.

In training a dog for obeying the sit command, the trainer can hold a specialty treat ready for praising and rewarding the dog once it learns to sit successfully. This treat can be held at a position closer to dog’s head and then the dog can be told to “sit” in a clear voice. When the dog’s backward portion touches the floor, the dog can be made to sit properly by using the Leashcollar. This training can be repeated until a stage comes, when the dog learns to sit properly without any external support from the trainer. At this stage, the dog will sit once sit command is given.

It is a useful tip for the trainer to praise the dog when it sits properly by saying “a good sit” as even dogs understand the facial expressions. When trainer smiles and praises the dog and rewards it with the treat then dog feels confident that it has learned to “sit”. The treat may not be necessary after the dog has learnt how to sit properly. But praising the dog will be an additional moral support for the dog and will strengthen the bond between the trainer and the dog for any kind of further training.
